WWE Hall of Fame is not as big of a deal as a traditional sports Hall of Fame. Still, it is a pretty nice achievement for a wrestler and it is an honor to be one of the very few that have made it. Some of the biggest stars in the history of wrestling are there, which is a big deal.
But, let’s be real – WWE Hall of Fame is just another way for the company to bring attention to Wrestlemania, get some mainstream attention on the company and sell a few extra tickets. That is their main goal and that’s why they are doing the Hall of Fame event just two days before Mania.
Each and every year we have our headliner. It is the biggest name in the class and it is attracting the most attention. In the past couple of years, we have seen guys like Bill Goldberg and Kurt Angle. These are the kind of guys that people are going to recognize. They are used to sell the tickets.
There are reports that The Rock could be on his way to the Hall of Fame, maybe even next year before Mania 35. The biggest show in the world of wrestling is coming to New York, it is a big stage, which is perfect for The Rock.
He is working a really busy schedule, which makes it unlikely that he is going to wrestle again. He just can’t risk the injury. Because of that, WWE might pull the trigger on his Hall of Fame induction, which is going to be one of the biggest of all time, there is no doubt about that.
The media coverage alone is going to be huge. That is exactly what Vince wants – more eyes on his company and his product.
