In one of the most hated main events in the recent memory at Wrestlemania, Brock Lesnar battled against Roman Reigns for the Universal Championship. Truth be told, every main event of Mania that Roman was in has been something that the fans haven’t really been looking forward too. This one, just like the Triple H one, the WWE Universe hated. The only way the fans would dislike this match more than they did this time is if Roman had won.
WWE went with the decision to have him lose this clash but made him look good and tough after kicking out multiple times and bleeding out, not giving up. They for sure planned to give Roman the belt but probably decided that it is a better move for Lesnar to defend the championship so that another Mania doesn’t end with Roman getting booed out of the building like the past two have.
There is another reason that they have made this call. WWE is having their Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia on April 27th where Roman is going to be challenging the Beast Incarnate for the championship yet again. The company is going off American soil in order to have Reigns cheered when he wins the title since there are a lot of Roman fans in Asia in general.
He is going to get the reaction that the company wants him to get in Saudi Arabia and that is why they are doing the match there. If The Big Dog losses that one as well, it would mean that WWE has really moved on from him.
But, that is highly unlikely. He is still Vince’s guy, it just seems that nothing is going to change that, no matter how the fans react.
