Some people doubted Dwayne Johnson after his Baywatch remake was panned by critics. But The Rock knows how good he is, and he values more the opinion of the fans than some overrated critics. The Baywatch managed to more than double its budget at the box office despite critics bad-mouthing it.

After the film about lifeguards, Dwayne Johnson went onto to make another remake. This time around it was a remake of fantasy-adventure from the 90s. Robin Williams’ Jumanji served as an inspiration for Dwayne Johnson to make Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. The latter one proved to be a box office smashing hit grossing more than $942 million on a budget of $90 million.

So, The Rock got his mojo back and his ready to continue the winning stretch. His next movie set for release is Rampage. This is an adaptation of a 1986 arcade game. It’s directed by Brad Peyton, and in addition to Johnson, it stars Naomie Harris, Malin Åkerman, Joe Manganiello, Jake Lacy, Marley Shelton and Jeffrey Dean Morgan. The story follows primatologist Davis Okoye played by Johnson while he tries to save the world from rampaging monsters. He’s aided by an over-sized gorilla called George who also happens to be his good friend.
