The Oscars are over, and unfortunately, Baywatch was one of the losers there, but do not feel bad because they ended up with a win and it is no other than Razzies winner for a total “s— sandwich.” Dwayne, the man that he is, of course very “humbly and graciously” accepted this award and even managed to make it look like it is something big.
Just before this Sunday’s 90th Academy Awards, Johnson went to Twitter and announced his Razzies acceptance speech. The speech was all about him being “very proud” of all the Oscar nominees and about him being “…also excited because I was just informed that I too am bringing home the gold tonight. No, not an Oscar — maybe one day. But a Razzie.” The Rotten Tomatoes gave the Baywatch total of 18 percent and a new and very special title of The Razzie Nominee that states – “So Bad You Loved It!”
It’s the #Oscars and Hollywood’s biggest night!
So let me go ahead and take this “L” right on the chin for Baywatch.

According to Johnson’s explanation, the Baywatch “was so bad that they actually had to create another category,” and continued “The new category is a movie so rotten you eventually fell in love with it. I’m not kidding, which means the s— sandwich you’ve been eating is so bad that you eventually started to like it. Look, we made Baywatch with the best of intentions, it didn’t work out like that, but I humbly and graciously accept my Razzie.” In the ordinary Johnson fashion, he actually thanked all the critics and fans for summing up the honors for the movie and commented: “That’s just the way love goes.”
Besides the Baywatch, some of the other 2018 Razzie “winners” were also announced on Saturday and one of them is The Emoji Movie which scored Worst Picture, but that is not all. The Razzies also made a video for all of those accused of harassment and inappropriate conduct in Hollywood with a special message – “Very sorry, but we won’t be missing you — or your kind.”
