One of the highest-paid actresses in India and according to Forbes, one of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women in 2017, Priyanka Chopra, conquers the world with her charm. After her latest movie, Baywatch, she started to win over the heart of Hollywood as well. It’s not only Hollywood’s heart that she captured, but she also managed to seize the love of nowadays the Hollywood’s highest paid actor Dwayne Johnson.
Dwayne openly reveals his affection towards Priyanka and admits that, when it comes to her, it was the love at first sight.
“I love this woman, it’s funny when she came to America… She was over here, signed with our agency, with my agent, we immediately had that connection,” Johnson said in one of his interviews.
Dwayne seems to be absolutely fascinated by Priyanka.
“We got on the phone, we immediately vibed, we share the same DNA, the same ambition… Not only did I fall in love with her, we had this crazy idea that she would be an amazing villain on Baywatch.”
He also doesn’t hide his excitement for seeing Priyanka as one of the stars of Hollywood. According to this man, she is a great refreshment, and her presence in Hollywood is nothing short of valuable. The Rock also feels happy for being able to work with her on Baywatch.
Baywatch is Priyanka’s first Hollywood debut alongside Dwayne Johnson, Zac Efron, Kelly Rohrbach, Alexandra Daddario, Ilfenesh Hadera and Jon Bass. Although the movie was considered a great success among the audience, some critics described this film as ‘childish,’ ‘shallow’ and ‘Stupid.’
Despite their overall opinion of the movie, Priyanka’s appearance in Baywatch was considered to be brilliant, as well as her acting. Many critics think of her as the next “Indian Goddess.”
In the movie, she plays Victoria Leeds, the role that was at first written for a male actor, but it was Johnson who thought that the part would be perfect for Chopra.
“I think in order to play a villain, the greatest of villains have this great quality and capacity and depth, and that’s exactly what Priyanka has. So it originally was written for a man… It is way cooler if we flip that over and made it a female… With Priyanka, everything is considered, every little detail is considered.”
