Ezekiel Elliott is coming back to Cowboys team on Monday! His 6-game suspension is finally over!
The Dallas Cowboys are expecting their star running back to report to squad facilities on Monday morning!
Due to the ban caused by a violation of the league’s personal conduct policy, Elliott received a suspension of six games. Monday was his first potential day to come back, and it seems like that projection was right.
During Elliott’s absence, the Cowboys recorded 3 wins and 3 losses. They dropped the first three games, and after that, they won three. As things stand right now, The Cowboys have a chance to grab the NFC Wild Card if they win against the Seattle Seahawks next week. Their current record stands at 8-6.
“We’re in the hunt, but it’s not just, ‘Here he comes back,’ ” tight end Jason Witten stated. “We can never rely on that. He’s a great player and I know he’s worked hard to get himself back and handled this entire process like a pro, but the most important thing is just to be in the hunt still” he exclaimed.
Ezekiel Elliott spent more than a month abroad, and during his time away from the team he cut a few pounds. Throughout his first eight games, he rushed for 783 yards and recorded seven touchdowns. He ran at least 80 yards in seven of those eight duels.
“We get an extreme boost because that’s our guy,” wide receiver Dez Bryant said of Elliott. “That’s our horse. He gives us that extra boost of joy because of his personality and who he is. He gets guys going with his attitude and his passion and love for the game. Just seeing him back will make us play that much harder.”
During Elliott’s final appeal of the suspension, the Cowboys were on a three-game winning streak, but then the NFL denied Zeke’s claim. Elliott had recorded six touchdowns in those three matches while running the ball 26 times in each duel at least.
Seattle Seahawks are having an awful defensive performance lately. They allowed the LA Rams to run for 244 yards and considering that statistic, things aren’t looking good for them ahead of the clash with Dallas.
