Bad blood in Fast and Furious family continues as Tyrese Gibson keeps attacking Dwayne Johnson publicly. The popular actor posted on his Instagram that he is going to leave the Fast and Furious franchise if Johnson appears in the next installment.
Gibson wrote: “Hello world, hello loyal fans and loved ones from OUR fast universe. I’m sorry to announce that if [Dwayne] is in Fast9 there will no more Roman [Pearce]. You mess with family and my daughters survival I mess with yours.”
Gibson has enough personal problems to be picking on Dwayne Johnson, as he is currently involved in a legal confrontation with his former wife, who said Tyrese Gibson abused their daughter.
Gibson has had issues with Fast and Furious 9 being delayed so that a standalone film about Johnson’s character Hobbs is filmed. He previously pointed out that family came first and that no spin-off could be a priority to the main Fast and Furious films. Tyrese wrote: “Congratulations to @TheRock and your brother in law aka 7 bucks producing partner @hhgarcia41 for making the fast and the furious franchise about YOU.” He also teased Johnson and his failed Baywatch project.
Gibson’s problem is that Dwayne Johnson wants to make a movie just about Hobbs and he used Instagram to convince The Rock to give up on the idea. He said that it would not be wise to do it, but Johnson didn’t respond.
The whole drama started when Dwayne Johnson insulted his co-stars publicly. Vin Diesel and The Rock have had a feud, and now, it is Gibson who has a problem with Johnson. To make matters worse, Michelle Rodriguez wants prominent female roles since she is dissatisfied with the fact that almost all main characters are males.
