Survivor Series pay per view doesn’t mean as much as it did over a decade ago. Back in the day, there were some big 5v5 traditional Survivor Series matches that were a part of a huge storyline. A lot was on the line in those battles, and the PPV event had that feeling of being important. Over the past couple of years, this PPV has fallen off.
It has elevated just a bit since the brand split. Now, both of the brands are going to be on the show, which is only the fourth time in 2017 that the best from red and blue rosters are being showcased at the same time. Just like last year, there will be Raw vs. Smackdown 5v5 match in which both of the sides are going to battle for brand supremacy.
According to one channel on the Youtube, there is already a poster for the event. Since WWE needs to market their shows, they need to put the names of the superstars on the poster just so the fans can see what they can expect and for what are they giving their money.
On the red side, it’s going to be Kurt Angle that will be joined by Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Finn Balor and Samoa Joe. For the blue team, Shane McMahon will lead AJ Styles, Randy Orton, Bobby Roode and Shinsuke Nakamura into the battle.
Even though Roman Reigns is still not clear to make his return, WWE has him penciled in for the match at the Survivor Series. The plans before he got sick were for him to captain this Monday Night Raw team. Now, that duty is probably going to go to the General Manager of the red brand, Kurt Angle.
