After a 33-19 victory over the Washington Redskins, Dallas Cowboys’ Ezekiel Elliott flies to New York for a preliminary injunction hearing that will decide his fate. Elliott is already familiar with the process of a similar type as he attended one in Sherman, Texas before the season started.
Zeke is certain that he will be allowed to play: “We’re confident in our argument. We’re confident that I’ll be on the field for the rest of the year.”
This case should end early this week, and it all depends on Judge Katherine Fallia and her ruling. If Elliott loses, the suspension might still not be enforced because he could appeal to the Second Circuit Court of Appeals that can permit him to get back on the field.
“I mean it’s really out of my hands,” Zeke said. “There’s nothing more I can control. Just trust my legal team that they’re going to do their job and make sure I’m on the field next week.”
Even though The Columbus, Ohio authorities decided not to press charges against the Cowboys running back, the NFL wanted to enforce this six-game suspension so badly. Elliott has been said to violate the league’s personal conduct policy, but since there is a clear lack of concrete evidence, they haven’t been able to finish the case. Elliot has recently said that he was fighting for his name.
Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones said: “What is important is he gets a fair shake. Zeke has in no way, by any standard in this country, done anything wrong. He’s done nothing wrong. We, the league, have tried to say he’s done something we disagree with. We all don’t agree with that. I want him to get a fair shot. He deserves that. As a matter of fact every one of us that is a part of this league, if all of a sudden, we are called to be accountable. … We don’t have the system in place for this, and we’re trying to make one up in a few short months and it’s got too many ways to not be fair to a person like Zeke.”
Even though the hearing is on Monday, October 30, Elliott focused on the Sunday game against the divisional opponent. And he was magnificent with 150 yards on 33 carries and two touchdowns. This is his third straight game with 100+ yards, and we would like to see this guy breaking his personal best he set last season with 1,631 yards.
“That’s our job, to check everything at the door,” Elliott said. “I’ve said this before but ownership, the coaching staff, my teammates have played a big role just allowing me to be able to focus on this game and focus on what I need to be for this team and I thank them for that.”

In case Elliott starts his suspension now, he will not be there for the Cowboys until the game with the Oakland Raiders on December 17. As his replacements, there are Alfred Morris, Darren McFadden, and Rod Smith, but the fact is that none of these players are as good and dominant as Ezekiel Elliot.
However, Zeke supports his teammates and believes in them: “We have a great running back room. I’m not too worried about the guys who are behind me. There are a lot of great running backs behind me. All three of them can go be starters anywhere. I have a lot of confidence in the guys in that room and I have a lot of confidence in this team.”
Dallas appears to be getting back on track and losing Elliott at this point of the season would be a disaster.
