2018 is going to be a massive year for Marvel since we expect the premieres of two movies – Deadpool 2 and X-Men: Dark Phoenix. The production of both titles has ended officially, which was confirmed by Ryan Reynolds, who will be the favorite antihero and Simon Kinberg, the director of the next X-Men film.
Deadpool was a huge hit last year, and even people who were unfamiliar with his adventures in the comics were thrilled with the film. Ryan Reynolds, of course, returns as Wade Wilson, whereas Leslie Uggams and T.J. Miller will play Blind Al and Weasel respectively. New characters will join the film – Cable and Domino – who will be portrayed by Josh Brolin and Zazie Beetz.
The teaser trailer that was released earlier just made the fans in need for more. They had a chance to see Stan Lee in the trailer, which was quite surprising, whereas both Deadpool and Brolin’s Cable are going to break the fourth wall and talk to the audience directly.
When it comes to the X-Men: Dark Phoenix, we expect to see Game of Thrones star Sophie Turner in the role of Jean Grey a.k.a. Dark Phoenix. The story is going to follow Turner who struggles to control her powers, but the X-Men will come to the rescue. She will be joined by James McAvoy as Charles Xavier, Michael Fassbender as Magneto, Nicholas Hoult as Beast and Jennifer Lawrence as Mystique.
Deadpool 2 debuts on June 1, 2018, whereas X-Men: Dark Phoenix will premiere later that year, on November 2. In the meantime, new X-Men movie, which will hit theaters in April 2018 is called The New Mutants, and it stars another Game of Thrones star Maisie Williams and Charlie Heaton that we know from Stranger Things. The new trailer has been released recently, and you can check it out here.
