Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) officially introduced its new iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus, which are described by the tech giant as the” most advanced ever” because of its revolutionary Multi-Touch interface.
iPhone 6S, iPhone 6S Plus features
According to Apple, the iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are integrated with 3D Touch, which senses force and allows intuitive ways to access features and interact with content.
In a statement, Philip Schiller, senior vice president of Worldwide Marketing at Apple said, “The only thing that has changed with iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus is everything — 3D Touch lets users interact with iPhone in entirely new and fun ways, and the innovative Live Photos brings your pictures to life.”
Schiller added, “These are the most advanced iPhones ever, with 7000 series aluminum, ion-strengthened glass, the new 64-bit A9 chip, 12-megapixel iSight and 5-megapixel FaceTime HD cameras, faster Touch ID, LTE and Wi-Fi. Customers are going to love them.”
With 3D Touch, users can navigate and experience their iPhones in different ways such as the Peek and Pop. Users can press lightly to peek on their e-mail or a web page or press a little harder to pop into the content.
The new iPhones sport Retina HD displays that are made from the strongest class and 700 series aluminum, similar to the alloy used in the aerospace industry. The smartphones come in stunning metallic finishes including rose gold.
iPhone 6s and iPhone 6s Plus also introduces Live Photos, a new approach to photography as it allows users to capture a moment in motion.
The 3D Touch and Live Photos are powered by the A9 chip, which offers a faster performance and better battery life. The A9 chip offers 70% faster CPU and 90% faster GPU performance than the A8 chip.
Additionally, the camera on the smartphones has a new state-of-the-art 12-megapixel sensor with advanced pixel technology and Apple-designed image signal processor. The iPhone 6S and iPhone 6S Plus are integrated with a new 5-megapixel FaceTime HD camera and Retina Flash.
