Fortinet Delivers Broad Cybersecurity Solutions for Critical Defense Infrastructures
SUNNYVALE, Calif., September 10, 2015 – Fortinet® (NASDAQ: FTNT) – the global leader in high-performance cybersecurity solutions, today announced that 18 distinct FortiGate next-generation firewalls (NGFWs) have been certified and added to the Department of Defense (DoD) Unified Capabilities (UC) Approved Products List (APL). UC APL certification qualifies designated Fortinet products for sale to DoD agencies, based on stringent Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) testing – a standardized methodology for the secure installation and maintenance of computer software and hardware.
The addition of these products to the APL means that the DoD can choose from a wider range of Fortinet firewalls when seeking new technology to address its unique and demanding cybersecurity needs. These latest certifications also reinforce Fortinet’s commitment to third-party certification and validation. To date, the company has received more third-party competitive and performance-based product recommendations than any other vendor in the cyber security market.
The list of Fortinet products that have received the UC APL certification include:
- Fortinet’s FortiGate next-generation firewalls: 80C, 100D, 200D, 300C, 600C, 800C, 1000C, 1240B, 1500D, 3240C, 3600C, 3700D, 5001A, 5001B, 5001C, 5140, 5203B; and FortiGate/FortiWifi 60C, 60D
- Fortinet’s powerful security operating system, FortiOS 5.0
“We are very much committed to providing the highest levels of protection to our government customers who are consistently faced with threats from some of the most malicious, persistent, and sophisticated attackers trying to infiltrate their networks,” said Steve Kirk, vice president of federal sales for Fortinet. “Our inclusion on the UC APL not only means Fortinet’s solutions are officially sanctioned for DoD use, but also provides reassurance to all of our customers that Fortinet has been successfully field-tested against one of the world’s most rigorous security protocols.”
Fortinet’s flexible and extensive product portfolio enables customers to deploy an array of security solutions that meet their specific needs – whether in large or small, wired or wireless environments.
