Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) an American on-demand streaming service, posted a prank video on YouTube promoting its own version of the smart watch. Online streaming service made fun of upcoming Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL)’s smart watch in its video advertising a fake imitation of the product called ‘Netflix Watch.’

The video features ‘Netflix Watch’, similar to the dimensions of an iPhone, which would facilitate a user with all-time quality streaming of desired movies and videos wherever he/she wants it.
It is not a co-incidence that the spoof video came a few days prior to lunch of pre-order for Apple Watch. Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) is launching its Watch on April 24, with pre-orders starting tomorrow. Described as a companion to the iPhones, the smart watch, along with displaying time, provides app-alerts, music playback option and various biofeedback monitoring features. Priced at $349 for the cheapest version, Apple Watch does not support streaming videos from Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX).
Video even announced an upcoming version
“It’s the vast world of Netflix, right on your wrist!” claimed the narrator of the video, who further added that the watch is custom-designed according to one’s daily activities and preferences. Elaborating on the need of buying the watch, the narrator stated, “life is too short to waste precious time not watching Netflix.” Further, describing the product as something that provides full freedom, the company claimed that the watch offers quality streaming of desired movies and TV shows and is not ‘THAT inconvenient’.
Further, the parody video concludes by claiming an upcoming plus version of the Netflix Watch, which would be as big as a tablet, and will provide a 4K streaming experience to the consumers. Nothing was mentioned about the price of the Netflix, Inc. (NASDAQ:NFLX) Watch in the video, but that’s probably because the product is never going to be out.
Though, the video ridiculed about the notion of an iPhone attached to one’s wrist, but it is worth mentioning that products like this do exist. According to a search carried out on Amazon with the keyword “iPhone wristband,” the search returned a number of real-life products tagged as fitness accessories, according to TechCrunch.
