The Season 11 of this great show kicked off, and thankfully they didn’t keep us anticipating for a long time. Amy actually said yes to Sheldon’s proposal in episode one (The Proposal Proposal) of the Season 11. If you recall, the Season 10 ended with Sheldon’s proposal to Amy, and the series decided not to take to long to grace us with Amy’s answer. Since we have a big “Yes!” the next thing that concerns us is whether the wedding will take place before the end of Season 11 or shall we enjoy it in the next season?
According to new showrunner, Steve Holland and his statement to the HR “Nothing is set in stone. It’s possible to see it this season. Like a lot of things we do, we’ll mine it for as many stories as we can. But we don’t want it to drag on past its end date. I wouldn’t be surprised if you saw it this season, although there’s no promises to that.” As you can presume the next episodes that we will see Sheldon and Amy will have a tough job at planning their special day. Knowing those two and just what they are like, it will surely be a “special” day, for both them and us the viewers.
Sheldon in his peculiar way will most definitely make things as complicated as possible and drive everyone crazy in the process, but hey, that is what drew us to the show in the first place. Holland had something to say about that as well, and according to him “One of the episodes is Sheldon, who is so excited, wants to make the wedding so perfect that he starts to drive himself crazy trying to pick a wedding date. Because he can’t just pick a date — he has to analyze every date; he’s sure that there’s a best one out there. And he can be like that with every decision for this wedding.”
Shelden’s soon to be better half isn’t going to come out of all this with all of her nerves intact. If you recall Amy and Sheldon already had a minor dispute when some of Amy’s colleagues showed more interest in Amy’s research work than talk about Sheldon and his work. Sheldon nearly exploded in his special way but nothing escalated too big, and we managed to find out that this will not be the last time these two bump heads over their careers. According to Steve Holland, this will go on throughout the season. Apparently, this will be thanks to the fact that Amy’s career is going a lot better than Sheldon’s and this is a “hard thing for his ego.” We presume that this will be a big deal throughout the season and it will be a challenge for both of them especially with the wedding planning at hand.
The episode two (The Retraction Reaction) and three (The Relaxation Integration) will be rather interesting because they will show us Sheldon stressing over picking the “perfect” wedding day and Amy and Bernadette’s bonding over having to hide their success from Sheldon and Howard. The Season 11 is, at least according to all of this, going to be very interesting and we know that we will be glued to the seats as soon as episode 2 airs on Monday, October 2, on CBS, and we advise that you do the same!
