North Korea warned that it will put its military on high alert to launch operations against United States and South Korea, which it believes are sparking hostility. This is not the first time when North Korea has presaged military action against South Korea and the United States. It is believed that North Korea resorts to this talks to maintain its domestic and international political agenda.
North Korea warns U.S.
Recently, one of the North Korea spokesperson warned the United States to be ready to face “disastrous consequences” for stirring the fleet of ships and aircraft carriers, into South Korean airport.
One of the spokesman said “In this connection, the units of all services and army corps level of the KPA received an emergency order from its supreme command to reexamine the operation plans already ratified by it and keep themselves fully ready to promptly launch operations any time.”
The spokesman added that the United States will bear whole responsibility if disaster is answered by its imperialist aggression forces’ nuclear strike means, according to Reuters.
U.S. and South Korea deny allegations
The United States said that posting 28,500 troops in South Korea is only a part of its regular drills. Further, the country said that aircraft carrier USS George Washington was heading the fleet of ships to visit South Korea in a routine port call.
South Korea also denied allegations put by North Korea saying that ships were taking part in a routine maritime search and rescue exercises.
Defying international warnings
North Korean announced earlier that it is not bound by the settlement, which it reached with the United States and China to end the war in 1950-53. Further, North Korea said that it is capable of using nuclear weapons to attack the United States and South Korea.
North Korea has continued with making of long range missiles and has not paid heed to the international warnings. It is believed that the defying country has enough missiles to build up to 10 nuclear bombs. However, intelligence sources say that North Korea is short of technology needed to deploy such weapons.
It is believed that secluded North Korea’s army is large but not fit to fight the extended modern battle. However, North Korea partly proved it wrong by fighting a war against South Korea, in 2010, which took lives of 50 people.
