BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) Classic may soon be available on the Verizon for its customers though nothing has been confirmed officially. According to a report from CrackBerry, the Classic will be launched on Verizon on February 26th.
Classic soon on Verizon?
Nothing has been confirmed so far, but a screen shot from CrackBerry showing an internal memo reflecting the various features of this BlackBerry Smartphone notes that the phone will be launched on 2/26 across all Verizon channels. In the memo, there was no information over the price and the users will have to wait for few more days for the official launch of the phone.
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) Passport and Classic was launched last year for the high-end customers. Passport had a unique form factor with specifications that stood in the competition with the other flagship smartphones.
In November, BlackBerry Classic was released, inspired by the old Classic designs, which drove the company to the podium of success. The company promoted two key features of the smartphone i.e. TrackPad and function key belt.
At present, Verizon rival AT&T sells both the devices on its network. Both the BlackBerry smartphones were launched on AT&T for the first time to its customers. The Canadian smartphone company customized Passport for AT&T by changing the edges to round.
BlackBerry stock looking positive
BlackBerry Ltd (NASDAQ:BBRY) (TSE:BB) saw declining short interest in the month of January. As of January 30th, short interest totalled to 97,681,923 shares, a drop of 22.1% from the January 15th total of 125,367,832 shares.
Number of research analysts recently assigned rating to the stock. Vetr analyst assigned higher rating to the stock from Sell to Hold, and assigned it a price target of $11.44 in a research note on February 9th. Oppenheimer analysts maintained Hold rating on the Canadian firm in a research note on January 16th. Robert W. Baird analyst assigned Hold rating to the stock with the price target of $10.00 in a research note on December 22nd. Separately, analysts from Morgan Stanley assigned a price target of $7.00 and assigned Sell rating to the stock in a research note on December 22nd.
