One of the greatest managers and announcers in the history of the wrestling and WWE legend Bobby “The Brain” Heenan has passed away yesterday at the age of 72. The cause of death isn’t known yet, but we do know that he has been battling cancer for the past couple of years and that he was in a really bad condition. There are some events that he was booked for over the past couple of months, but unfortunately, he couldn’t show up for as he was dealing with the illness. In the end, he just couldn’t overcome it.
Heenan will be remembered as one of the most entertaining and the most talented managers in the WWE of all time. Back in 2004, he entered the WWE Hall of Fame. A lot of wrestlers that are in the company today and that have worked with the company over the past two decades used the twitter and other internet outlets in order to talk about Heenan, how great he was and what he had meant to them and their careers.
Ric Flair, Lex Luger, Sheamus, Goldberg and Jim Ross are just a couple of names that paid their respect to the late-great WWE manager and announcer Bobby “The Brain” Heenan. Here is what WWE Hall of Famer Bret “The Hitman” Hart had to say about him.
“Goodbye to another friend. Bobby Heenan has been my hero there past few years. How he battled cancer with such defiance and courage in recent years has mystified me. He was always sharp as a tack, and whether anyone, including him, ever knew it, he was the absolute toughest man the wrestling would ever know. Rest in peace Bobby, nobody will ever forget all that you gave.”
