Fran Shammo, Verizon CFO has declared that the company has no plans to offer the data rollover plans like its peers. Shammo added that Verizon Wireless is the nation’s largest wireless carrier and that they won’t follow its rival to allow the users to carry forward their unused data in the upcoming billing cycles.
In an interview on Thursday he mentioned that, the company is a leader and not the follower, hence, there is no sense in chasing what T-Mobile Us Inc (NYSE:PCS) and AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) have been doing.
Last month T-Mobile launched its “Data Stash” rollover program, which was immediately followed by an analogous program by AT&T. Shammo said that such feats just create an environment of competition rather than gaining the confidence of customers. He added, the company has never ever followed any of its peers and that they want to stay away from such conflicts.
Verizon has a clear vision for the overall development of the business by providing quality service. In the course of action the company would let go some of its customers who are leaving the services due to price issues, as it won’t make any financial benefit to them as well.
Stack On Google Fiber
The company has also decided not to follow Sprint Communications Inc and T-Mobile with the wireless service offered by Google Inc (NASDAQ:GOOGL). Shammo appreciated Google Fiber, company’s agenda on building a fiber optic line to provide an ultra high speed internet access at an affordable price.
Undoubtedly the search engine giant has succeeded in its endeavor as it has never penetrated the FiOS region because it already has all its fiber optic lines laid out directly to the premises.
Shammo refused to comment on questions regarding Verizon’s talk with Google about resale agreement and Google’s wireless resale trade. He said that we have had resellers for 15 years now and have seen them come and go.
