Sean Udall, CIO of Quantum Trading Strategies and author of The TechStrat Report told Benzinga that Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) will launch the more powerful four-inch device if they are confident of shipping 10 million units per year.
Many questions unanswered
Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) hogged the media limelight this year by launching tow large-screen smartphones, and recent rumors suggest that now it might be analyzing an idea of a smaller iPhone 6. Apparently, the iPhone maker could launch four-inch version of the iPhone 6S, which will be dubbed as the iPhone 6s Mini, says analyst.
Udall said that the question is whether Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) would go for 5S and 5C type of phones or will make a more powerful four-inch phone. Also, the question is if the phone will have a similar high-end specifications as the new phones.
Udall said that the customers want the enhanced specifications of the new phone models. He added, “In a sense, I actually think it’s a pretty reasonable rumor because it wouldn’t be that hard for Apple to do it.”
Will Apple go against the trend?
Analyst Jeff Kagan, tech industry expert said that the news of Apple Inc. (NASDAQ:AAPL) planning to release an upgraded four-inch handset will be a sweet music to the ears of many customers. Kagan is, however, not very convinced that Apple will do so. Kagan added that going by the trend, Apple keeps the same size of phone for two years and then changes.
Before the iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus were released, every analyst said that Apple will need to release a larger iPhone. However, now analysts are expecting smaller device. Kagan said that last year the sole concern of the customers and analysts was that Apple phones were very small. He added that his iPhone 5 is not very small and he likes it. According to Kagan, he is not a very big fan of the phone that is larger and sticks out of the pocket.
