4Strawberry Cream Cheese Pastries
Ingredients:
1 sheet puff pastry
1 oz (1/4 cup) cream cheese, softened
1 1/2 Tbsp strawberry jam
1 drop red food coloring (optional)
2/3 cup very small diced strawberries
1 large egg whisked with 1 Tbsp water
Powdered sugar, for dusting
Preparation:
1. Follow the instruction on the package to thaw puff pastry and meanwhile preheat oven to 400°F.
2. Use the small bowl and a rubber spatula to mix together cream cheese, food coloring and jam and when you are done put it in the fridge.
3. Cut pastry in heat shapes with a heart-shaped cookie cutter
4. Transfer hearts to a baking sheet that is lined with parchment paper and with a sharp paring knife score a heart inside of each but don’t cut through the bottom.
5. Add 1 tablespoon of the cream cheese in the center and put strawberries over the cream cheese without covering the edge.
6. Bake for 15 minutes until edges are golden brown.
