6Bacon Rose Bouquet
Ingredients
Bacon Roses:
1 package thick-cut bacon
2 tablespoons of maple syrup
½ tablespoon of Black pepper
1 tablespoon of brown sugar
Rose Stems:
1 dozen artificial roses
Preparation
1. Heat the oven to 400°F.
2. Roll the strips of bacon slowly so that a pink part of the bacon is on the top. When you roll it, use the toothpick to secure the bacon so that it stays put while it is cooking. You can add a second toothpick if you see that the bacon isn’t standing still.
3. Put the rack on the top of a baking sheet and place the bacon roses on the rack. Use maple syrup and brown sugar or black pepper to drizzle the bacon and bake for 22-25 minutes. Let it cool.
4. As for the stem, peel apart the rosebuds on the artificial flowers, and in case there is styrofoam bud in the center, pull it off, but leave the plastic rod intact. Stick the bacon roses on each bloom and place everything in a vase.
