The Dallas Cowboys are pitching Earl Thomas at safety, and nobody can deny efforts to upgrade the defensive side of the ball and the overall team. Thomas is an impactful player, but even if they manage to bring him to Dallas, the organization faces another issue. Xavier Woods’ hamstring injury will most likely prevent his return for the regular season opener.
At this point, the team can rely on Jeff Heath who can play both spots, but he is much better in a box safety role. Meanwhile, Kavon Frazier is a box-safety only while Marqueston Huff suffered a groin injury and he was usually with the special team. The safety market has several names available, and Dallas should reach out for one.
