1Sheldon Richardson
Cowboys will look to add a DT in the offseason. Richardson seems like a good target considering that he’s been relatively healthy and consistent in his play. He was picked in the first round by NY Jets in 2014 where he played until last season. His run with Seahawks came in 2017.
Before moving to Seattle Richardson was targeted by Cowboys. But his contract was an issue then, and it will be now. During the last year, he earned $8 million with his market value going even higher now. He’s projected to make $11.9 million per year on a five-year contract. This is not something Cowboys can afford as the situation stands now. And for a player that has consistency but lacks true DT performance, they shouldn’t invest this much.
