1Sean Lee
Hang on, we know that you probably disagree strongly with this one but hear us out.
There is no doubt that Sean Lee, an All-Pro linebacker insanely strong and football smart, is capable of great things but what good does that do when he obviously can’t stay healthy for an entire season. He was absent for five games in 2017 due to the hamstring injury, and the injury burden has been following him throughout his whole career.
Consider that the defense is solely built around Sean Lee! With him absent, they are virtually damaged beyond repair. How about looking for a draftee LB in 2018 to replace Lee? The team fell 1-4 without Lee, and that is no doubt a big kick in the teeth to the coaching staff and front office since it clearly points out the fact that Lee must be on the field and that his absence is really expensive. He joined the team in 2010, and since then he hasn’t played an entire 16-game season, on top of that he’s almost 32-years-old.
Following 2019 Lee will become a free agent, so it’s best that the Cowboys think about the future and sack or try and force a pay cut and find a successor in the draft.
