2Jason Garrett
Let’s be honest with ourselves here, it’s high time we question the work of head coach Jason Garrett. Oh, we should also take a look at his coaching staff too.
The Cowboys’ record now stands at 8-7, and they are goners when it comes to the NFC playoffs picture. And they’ll most likely suffer another home loss. And that home loss would add up to previous four that will make up a grand five home losses. Quite awful. And the team could have reversed their fortune in six of their seven overall losses before going into the final two quarters, so that really leads us all to question the coaching staff’s capability and Garrett’s capability to adjust things in the locker room.
One year has passed since the Cowboys had a great run of games and were the hottest team in the NFL. Everyone predicted another great season and believed in a first-round bye and home-field advantage. And they could have had it all, but yet again they suffered a loss from the Green Bay Packers which meant that Garrett’s playoff record as a coach went from 1-1 to 1-2.
Ever since that game the team has been a sort of a roller coaster ride. To make things worse, Ezekiel Elliott and Sean Lee were absent.
And even though many still blame the absence of Elliott and Lee for bad offense and defense what about Garret? He is the head coach, he should have stepped up to save the day. He could have vetoed/changed/approved any and all coaching schemes and personnel changes. Even though owner Jerry Jones said how Garrett is safe, we have to question that statement, but moreover, we have to see if the same should apply to his coordinators.
