3Scott Linehan
Oh boy, does this guy have some explaining to do? We got used to the Cowboys’ powerful offense, but this season it has been everything but powerful. In Week 16 the offense was six feet underground after turning the ball more than three times and also failing to score a single touchdown. And when Ezekiel Elliott got suspended for six games it was clear that the team would do little to nothing without him. They failed to score 10 points in consecutive games for almost a whole month.
What did Scott do then? He put all the pressure on Dak Prescott. Linehan leaned on Prescott which only made things worse. The squad would establish a run and then abandon it thus making the rivals permanently take control of the game. Thanks to that decision made on a weekly basis, the Cowboys’ season was over. Add the lack of offensive adjustments after halftime, and this is what you get. The team out of the playoff contention. They could have turned six of their seven losses into wins if the offense hadn’t persistently played flat in the 3rd quarter.
Scott Linehan has a huge target on his back thanks to that. It is only left to see whether Jerry Jones will take action.
