5Dez Bryant
Many are questioning whether Dez Bryant is still an elite receiver. And following this awful season, it is no surprise that he is being doubted.
This guy has been a mix of good plays and bad backbreaking drops and turnovers this season. To be honest, we can’t put all the blame on Dez’s shoulders since the chemistry between him and Dak Prescott is of questionable quality. Bryant should look to minimize drops on catches he’d haul in every other day, but on the other hand, Prescott has to be a better throw provider.
In Week 16 Bryant really tarnished his reputation since he requested the ball only to fumble it in the end and then create a tip-drill interception. Thanks to that, the Seahawks scored 14 points on those two turnovers, and Dez also had a key drop earlier in the match. His numbers are bad and 11 drops this season really make things go from bad to worse.
We have to take into account the production-to-pay ratio on Dez since he is about to reach the Cowboys’ salary cap for a huge $16.5M in 2018 and thus making himself look even more reasonable for sacking in this offseason. At least the team should look for a pay cut when it comes to Dez Bryant.
