Vinny Smith, the former CEO of Quest Software and founder of Toba Capital, is selling his gigantic riverfront estate in Oakley, Utah, for 30 million USD.
Apart from the main 16,800 square-foot home on the coast of the Weber River, the property called Riverbend Ranch goes with a movie room, wine cellar and helicopter landing zone.
Smith said in an interview that there was much to do on the estate so that it felt like your own oasis. The whole property is 1,918 acres of Utah land. It has a great position near the river, which is suitable for numerous outdoor activities or fishing.
Smith said that they fly fished while the children went tubing or that they also rode ATVs, hiked and even went dog sledding.
The house has eight bedrooms and nine bathrooms. Apart from these, there is a wine cellar and, believe it or not, a huge movie-screening room.
The Smiths have had the estate for 4 years.
The current owner said that they had seen a video of the house in an email around Christmas 2012, in which they had got invited to spend New Year’s Eve there and had decided to buy it the first week they had arrived.
Listing agent Paul Benson pointed out that potential buyers could enjoy the privacy the estate offers. They would be 25 minutes away from Park City and still have a true mountain, western experience.
Apart from these, there are also the property’s craftsmanship and sliding walls which open the dining room to the river bank.
When asked why he decided to sell the property, Smith said that the main reason for that was the busy scheduled his wife and him have. They didn’t have enough time to appreciate the amazing place they had, so they were feeling hopeful that its next owners would spend more time at the house and on the ranch and realize how valuable it is to have a place like this.
