It seems that coaching staff thinks that their safeties are good enough to compete at the highest level, but adding more names to the squad on that position could be beneficiary. One of those players that could help the team is Derrick Kindred that currently plays for Cleveland.
As a fourth-round pick from 2016, Kindred has a couple more years on his rookie contract. He was good for Browns but had problems with injuries and tough competition on the roster. The situation in Cleveland is such that he might become expendable in case Peppers gets the second safety position behind recently acquired Damarious Randall that will definitely be the #1 option.
