Even though there are more than three teams that are probably going to try to address their quarterback situation, some of those squads don’t need to do that. They have some talented guys that can be successful if you put them in a good position to succeed.
For example, Kaepernick can work in San Francisco if Kyle Shanahan, their future head coach, comes up with good ideas for how to use him. He has done a great job in Atlanta on the offensive side of the ball, so he just might be able to do the same thing with Colin.
Now, let’s see which three teams need to address their QB position this offseason.
3) Dallas Cowboys – Dak Prescott was their starting QB this past season, but nobody really knows what Jerry Jones is actually planning to do. He might trade Romo, he might leave him on the bench as the Cowboys backup, or maybe he even puts him in the starting lineup. Dallas needs to figure this out.
2) New York Jets – NY has a lot of quarterbacks on their squad, but is someone really on that team their future signal caller? Petty, Fitzpatrick, Smith, they are all on the roster, but who will be the starter? Will Fitz be back? Will Jets draft another quarterback during the 2017 NFL Draft? All valid questions.
1) Cleveland Browns – They had a chance to take Carson Wentz with their first overall pick, but they did trade down and passed on the quarterbacks. RGIII is not the answer, Cody Kessler might be, but that is to be determined. They had four different starting QBs during the season, and five guys have been playing at that position for them during the year. It is essential for this franchise to figure this out, and the Draft might be the best place to do that as they will have the number one overall pick.
