The Fisker Karma was discontinued in 2012, but this electric sedan was brought back to life by the new company named Karma. Only this time, the model will be offered under the name of Revero. Karma is a newly-established car brand which will focus on the production of the electric vehicles.
Wanxiang, a Chinese part supplier, bought the rights to the Fisker Karma three years ago, which was a turning point for the brand and its model. One of the biggest changes is that the production was relocated to Moreno Valley, California. However, one mishap happened – Karma should have introduced new design and visual improvements so that people could distinguish new Revero from the Fisker version.
It seems that the brand is working on it as the new version has been seen on the street with both rear and front end camouflaged. Some of the usual modifications are expected, which means that the Revero will receive new headlights and rear lights, as well as front and rear fascia. The cabin of the new car will be redesigned but don’t expect the cramped space to grow, at least not until the model is presented.
Interestingly enough, the powertrain remained the same, so the Revero still has the extended-range electric configuration derived from the Chevy Volt. The setup combines a 2.0-liter I4 engine that is a courtesy of General Motors, and its purpose is to charge the 21.4-kilowatt-hour battery. The vehicle boasts two electric motors that develop slightly more than 400 horsepower.
We expect changes regarding the powertrain as well, but we will have to wait for Karma to make the official announcements. The changes need to be big, and they have to come fast if Karma wants to be a serious competitor in the electric car market. The Karma Revero should arrive in late 2019.
