The 2019 Audi RS 5 prototype was caught on camera right after the company had presented new S5 and A5 models.
Although the car in the photos and the video (which you can see below) may trick you into thinking that it is an S5 tester, you need to look closer. What gives it away is the wider track and fenders which are a bit larger. The new vehicle will be equipped with bigger intakes located on both front and rear end. This indicates that the exhaust tips will be round.

A naturally-aspirated 4.2-liter V8 is installed into the current sports version. However, the new model will actually contain a twin-turbocharged 2.9-liter V6 unit. This engine is located in the 2017 Porsche Panamera 4S and it is rated at 440 hp.
Once it reaches the new RS 5 it will produce more than 450 hp. The rumor has it that it will be good for slightly less than 500 hp. An 8-speed automatic from the current model should be transferred to the new one, whereas an AWD will be standard.
The car will see a dramatic weight reduction because of the Volkswagen Group’s MLB platform. Reduction in weight means an improvement in acceleration, so the new vehicle will go from 0-60 mph in just 4.5 seconds.
The new 2019 RS 5 will be revealed sometime next year. However, in the US, it will go on sale in 2018 as a 2019MY. Follow us for more details.
