2018 Volvo XC60 Leaked Ahead Of Official Unveil In Geneva

The revamped Volvo XC60 will be officially unveiled at the 2017 Geneva Auto Show, but the hype about this car has just dropped since the first photo has already leaked. The image was posted on Autoblog.nl and it is clearly seen that the second-generation XC60 will be rather similar to its larger sibling called XC90.

These two vehicles are based on the same platform which is known as the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA) which is used by the company for larger models. Because of this platform, the XC60 will be available with fuel-efficient drivetrains, and it is also expected to feature some self-driving technologies.

Even though this shot is the best one so far, when it is combined with the previous teasers, several other details are revealed. Firstly, the Thor’s Hammer DRLs break the boundaries of the main headlight cluster, and they extend to the front grille sides. Speaking of the front grille, it loses the chrome details that are present on the 90-series cars, whereas a new LED graphic has been added to the waterfall-designed taillights.

The 2018 Volvo XC60 that will hit the market in the US will be powered by the I4 engines. The base T5 trim is going to sport a 2.0-liter turbocharged I4 that produces around 250 ponies, while the range-topping T8 Twin Engine plug-in hybrid will be equipped with the same powerplant that is going to be combined with an electric drive system for the complete output of approximately 400 hp.
