New 2018 Toyota Supra has been spotted on the Nürburgring racing track. It has been expected to appear ever since a test mule at BMW M’s has been seen near test center.
Although the car was camouflaged, the rear end resembles the one of the 2014 FT-1 Concept and that is exactly the reason why this car cannot be the hardtop version of the BMW Z5. The spy shots have confirmed that Z5 and Toyota Supra will look completely different in terms of design. Moreover, new Toyota will be a coupe, unlike the BMW, which will be a soft-top roadster.
The driver of the Supra was sliding into corners while being off throttle, which means that he was unwilling to allow the cameras film and hear the sound of the powertrain.
The top trim 2018 Toyota Supra will have a hybrid powertrain linked with a turbo engine with six cylinders, which will produce 400 hp combined, according to some reports. However, cheaper variants of the new Supra will be powered by a turbocharged four-pot unit.
The BMW Z5 will be on sale in the second half of 2017 and only after that we will be able to see 2018
Toyota Supra on the market.
