Chicago Auto Show is always packed with novelties, and this one is no exception. Say hello to the 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure which, at least according to the automaker, is going to be even more fun than its predecessors.
What exactly is new for the 2018 model year? Well, firstly it is very well equipped for the great outdoors, meaning it is hosting larger fender flares, an elevated ride height and a standard trailer-prep package, which includes an upgraded radiator as well as engine oil and transmission fluid coolers.
This is all added to help the new RAV4 pull trailers without any troubles and as safely as possible, a trailer sway control and hill-start assist are there, but that is not all. Toyota Safety Sense-P which is the company’s suite of very advanced driver-assistance technologies will be made standard on this model. That suite brings a lane-departure warning, automatic high beams, adaptive cruise control and many, many more goodies to the table.
From the mechanical stand, you will be offered with a front-wheel drive that uses a limited-slip differential as standard, but if you want to be prepared for situations where you could lose grip, then you will have to cough up extra money for all wheel drive.
To wrap all that up nicely, Toyota will offer you as standard 18-inch five-spoke alloy wheels, somewhat lowered body guards and those nice looking headlight bezels, fog lamp surrounds and roof-rack components which will be in black color. You will also have five different color options for the exterior of the vehicle to choose from.
Interior
Interior is where 2018 Toyota RAV4 Adventure is going to offer you pretty unique furnish which includes leather-wrapped shift knob and special door sill trim. A nice touch is the all-weather floor mats which are also included to prevent you from muddying up your vehicle when you return from your off-road adventures. Since this is the type of vehicle that will go almost anywhere and in virtually any weather, be prepared for the crown jewel that Toyota will offer on the RAV4 Adventure. That crown jewel is a cold-weather package that will allow you to enjoy in the heated steering wheel and heated front seats along with a windshield wiper deicer. The neat thing that is always handy.
