We have written about the prototype of this model recently which was also seen near the Nurburgring race track, but now we have some footage of it being tested on the famous course!
You might be familiar with the recent outburst of Green Hell news and headlines however it is nothing out of the ordinary considering the good weather for this period of the year which made a lot of companies send out their engineering teams to test out their latest prototypes as soon as possible.
This SVR variation of the Velar has a set of big front air intakes, and at the back, it also features a set of double exhaust tips placed on both sides.
The sportier model is speculated to have a V8 engine which was featured in the Jaguar F-Pace SVR. This powerplant is supercharged and therefore produces enough torque and power to present fierce competition to their German colleagues.
It may come as a surprise that the Velar is about to get a power-house version only a month and a half after its debut at the Geneva Motor Show but why not. These things are normal nowadays. The automaker figured that fans want a car like this, therefore why not produce a Velar that will provide them with the performance they so much long for.
Another thing worth mentioning is that the Velar has the potential of falling into the same price range as the Range Rover Sport and if you opt for some features from the optional list prepare yourself to say goodbye to a lot of cash. But, one thing is for sure, you’ll get similar values with less effort.
And we have to understand the price to some extent. Come on, you cannot buy a new Range Rover (no matter which version) with a supercharged V8 for a small amount of cash.
Our hopes of seeing the Velar SVR presented later in 2018 and released before the year 2019 are high. This car should be enough to keep production facilities busy for next few years just like the Evoque did upon its original debut.
