McLaren has added another vehicle to their famous Sports Series, which is known as the “most affordable” among supercars and the name of the new model is the 570S Spider. The production was pretty much straightforward – they took the 570S coupe and removed the top.
Well, actually it is not that simple, and the top has been replaced with a retractable hardtop which you can open or close in only 15 seconds, and you can operate it on the move at speeds up to 25 mph. The new model looks cool, but because of the additional mechanism that had to be inserted, the 2018 McLaren 570S Spider is 101 pounds heavier.
McLaren installed the additional wind deflector which you can raise in order to help mitigate buffeting or lower when the top is up so that there is little bit more noise inside. Furthermore, the so-called “sports system” is offered as an option, and it channels exhaust sounds towards the cabin for even more noise.

Under the hood of the 2018 McLaren 570S Spider is a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V8 which delivers 562 hp and 443 lb-ft of torque while it is connected to a seven-speed transmission that distributes the power to the rear wheels. The Spider is very fast as it can reach 62 mph in just 3.2 seconds and with its roof up, the top speed is 204 mph, but if you decided to look cooler and lower the roof, you will not be able to go faster than 196 mph.
McLaren wanted to present all the fancy stuff on their Spider, which has three different driving modes – Normal, Sport and Track. Some of the features are carbon-ceramic brakes, a stability control system and adaptive dampers and compared to the coupe, Spider’s rear spoiler is slightly taller. You can buy the 2018 McLaren 570S Spider in three different new paint jobs – Curacao Blue, Vega Blue and Sicilian Yellow.

The deliveries of this supercar will commence in August this year but know that the car carries the starting price of $208,800 so be prepared to bust your piggy bank.
