According to various reports, Mazda is going to reveal two concept vehicles at the Tokyo Motor Show which starts later in October. One of those cars is going to give us a glimpse of the new Mazda 3, and the other one will show the fans the company’s next version of the “Kodo” design language.
The Japanese manufacturer’s theme for this year’s show will be “Celebrating Driving,” which can only mean one thing – Mazda is going to continue producing cars that are engaging and fun to drive in their quest for autonomous vehicles.
The model which you can see in the photo here is one of the two cars that will be on the podium in Tokyo, and it is a “product concept” compact hatchback that “fuses next-generation technology and design.”
So, the vehicle that will be presented is going to be equipped with Mazda’s next-gen techies as well as the anticipated SkyActiv-X compression-ignition engine even though the officials have said that the systems will apply a “human-centered design philosophy.” Since the brand-new Mazda 3 arrives in a year, it makes sense for the company to introduce the concept as a preview.
As for the second car that will be unveiled in Tokyo, expect a “design vision model” that will “define the next-generation of Mazda design.” We cannot tell much from the teaser photo except that it reminds us of the 2015 RX-Vision concept, that was supposedly previewing the long-awaited RX-9 rotary sports car.
Some other models Mazda plans to bring to the capital of Japan are the new Mazda CX-8 SUV as well as the special-edition MX-5 that sports auburn Nappa leather and a dark cherry red canopy.
