A completely new detailed report about the latest Jeep Wrangler has been posted online a few days ago! Jalopnik revealed all the details which were given to them by an anonymous tipster who is connected to Fiat Chrysler.
According to ‘the leak’ the next-gen Wrangler will be available with the 3.6-liter Pentastar V6 engine in two variations of tune. Potential buyers will also have the option to pick from two versions of the 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder petrol units. Other available options are a 2.2- and 3.0-litre turbo diesel engines.
Just like its predecessor the upcoming Wrangler will be available in two-door and four-door Wrangler Unlimited versions. If this report proves to be correct, then the new model range can be had with black or tan soft-top variations with power operation as an option. Variations with hardtop can be selected either with color coded lids or black colored lids.
There was no information about the new Wrangler’s transmission options. We firmly believe that there will be an automatic transmission, however, the manual one has not been confirmed yet.
Among other rumors, we saw that the new off-roader’s 2.0-liter turbo will produce around 224kW (300hp) of power.
We had a photo leak in March where we saw undisguised grainy images of the Wrangler Unlimited (courtesy of JL Wrangler Forums). Although it comes as a completely new vehicle, with a great number of new parts, the next-gen version will not stray off from the usual styling of the current model.
In order to cut weight but also keep costs in check, the upcoming Wrangler will have aluminum components which include its hood, tailgate and doors.
2018 Jeep Wrangler Release Date
2018 Jeep Wrangler is expected to have its debut later in the year. When it comes to North American market, the new one will be available alongside the current version which will remain in production for a while as an entry-level choice.
Recently there were photos of a new ute body, and it will join the range a month or two later.
