The new Jeep Renegade will come with numerous improvements. The company introduced this model several years ago and ever since then, the exterior has remained the same while the cabin of the crossover has been redesigned.
We don’t have any photos to show you the new interior, but according to Jeep, the 2018 Renegade will feature new seat fabrics, revised colors, and updated bezel treatments. Some of the other changes include a “revamped Selec-Terrain shifter dial layout,” two new storage compartments and different position of the USB port.
The base trim, Renegade Sport, will from now on sport a 5-inch Uconnect 5.0 audio system with Bluetooth connectivity, voice control technology and six speakers. These features are standard, but you can add the optional Uconnect 4 system which comes with a larger 7-inch display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility.
Jeep made sure that all 2018 Renegade models come with the standard ParkView rearview camera, but the additional changes are limited. The Renegade Sport will be equipped with a newly added and optional My Sky roof panel system.
The engines are going to be carried over from the predecessor. In other words, the 2018 Jeep Renegade will be packed with a turbocharged 1.4-liter I4 that produces 160 hp and 184 lb-ft of torque. The other option is a more powerful 2.4-liter four-cylinder naturally aspirated unit that generates 180 hp and 175 lb-ft of torque. Once it goes on sale, the new Renegade will compete against the likes of Nissan Juke, Toyota C-HR, Honda HR-V and Mazda CX-3.
