We have managed to find, apparently, a very sketchy and grainy for that matter, picture which is allegedly showing a facelifted Hyundai Sonata sedan appeared online, and that image came as a courtesy of Hyundai Blog.
It is hard to determine if the image is genuine or not, but if it really is original than it came at the right time. Why you might ask?! Well, the fact is that just a few days ago Hyundai dropped a number of official sketches of the car, and it is very nice to see a photo that shows the car somewhat livelier than a sketch does. And since there were some spy shots of the 2018 Hyundai Sonata caught testing as well, this grainy picture helps put some things into perspective as well.
Now, if we do presume that the picture is real and that this actually is the facelifted 2018 Hyundai Sonata, then with some degree of certainty we can indicate at some of the outside styling changes between this one and the ongoing model. First of all, in the front part of the car, you can see an overhauled grille which is much larger and more aggressive than that on the ongoing model. To further improve the design of the new fascia, the company decided to complement the grille’s angular shapes with new and redesigned fog lights and air intakes, and they tied up the front of the vehicle nicely with re-shaped headlights.
On the model’s sides and hood, you can see more prominent creases and bulges that give it another dimension which fits in the car’s overall look pretty nicely. Since this is all that is visible from the photo, we can just predict the changes that have happened on the back of the vehicle and in its cabin. But we shall not guess and speculate, we will wait for the facelifted Sonata’s launch which is scheduled for the next month and report back when we have necessary info! Stay tuned until then.
