2018 Hyundai Accent has been teased before its official presentation in the form of two photos and a video. From the material provided by Korean manufacturer, we can conclude that new Accent will remain the same regarding its size but that it will feature improved design. The vehicle will be upgraded so that it could keep up the pace with other Hyundai models that have already been modernized. Despite changing a lot, the new vehicle seems like it underwent an evolution rather than a revolution which can mainly be seen on the side of the car where it remained unchanged compared to the current installment.
The biggest change happened up front where new Accent has a new grille similar to the one on new Hyundai Elantra. Unlike grille which looks much more modern now, the headlights have taken a step back and are simplified a bit. Despite this, both front and rear light groups come with LED technology which in the end moves this car a step up on the scale.
New Accent Interior
On the inside expect a more refined touch and a vehicle packed with tech. Bluelink telematics system in its updated form and a multimedia interface of the latest gen will be available. These include both Android Auto and an Apple CarPlay. The standard equipment such as rear view camera and navigation will come as standard.
Engine
Under the hood of 2018 Hyundai Accent, you will find same 1.6-liter in-line four available on the current version which will be offered with both manual and automatic gearbox. The engine will be the same, but output number will be a little higher topping the current 137hp. Another possibility, which still needs confirmation, is the 1.4-liter turbo four mill which can be found on Elantra Eco. This option would be available with a seven-speed twin clutch automatic transmission.
2018 Hyundai Accent Release Date
The new Accent will hit the market later this year probably around September. But, worry not as you will have the opportunity to see it before scheduled date because the South Korean company will present its new model for the first time at the 2017 Toronto Auto Show. The named show is on the program from 17th to 26th February. If you find yourself in Toronto vicinity, go and check out new Accent.
Price
With all of the changes delivered for this model, the price is bound to go up. Even with an increase in price the model will remain one of the most affordable sedans. The current gen Accent (in its base version and with manual transmission) can be bought for MSRP of $15,000 which makes it one of the cheapest options in the segment.
