Yesterday was the day when Honda officially revealed their refreshed 2018 Fit which is due to go on sale next month with few changes like new styling, the addition of a Sport trim and available Honda Sensing safety features. Thanks to some smart moves from the Japanese brand and additions of features such as updated styling and wider color palette to better define the subcompact’s new styling as youthful, sporty, and emotional in character, will most likely be very fruitful.
According to Jeff Conrad, senior vice president of the American Honda Automobile Division “With sporty new styling and additional feature content, the 2018 Honda Fit ups the ante with new styling and sophistication not typically found in the subcompact segment. Fit has always represented a great value for subcompact customers and the addition of available Honda Sensing to its fun-to-drive performance and unmatched versatility will keep the Honda Fit as the industry’s benchmark subcompact.”
2018 Honda Fit Redesign
Now for the redesign details. The changes for the new Fit starts with the horizontally layered, two-piece chrome and piano black grille that now holds a lot more prominent Honda badge. The more aggressive new design stretches to the headlights which are upgraded, and the front is finished off with chrome accents on the front bumper that are combined with a full-width splitter, as well as more angular fog lights. The rear end now boasts with a redesigned bumper that features a full-width character line in piano black, a splitter-shaped lower section and a newly styled taillight combo that completes the refreshed rear fascia.
There is a new addition to the 2018 Honda Fit lineup, and it is the Sport trim. It will feature even more aggressive and sportier look, thanks to aero bits and pieces at the front, sides, and back, and a low, sharp, and bright orange front splitter. It will offer buyers 16-inch alloy wheels with an exclusive black finish, while the rear will host a three-strake diffuser with the bright orange upper trim line, chrome exhaust finisher, and Sport badge.

As far as paint is considered, the new Helios Yellow Pearl which will replace Mystic Yellow, and Orange Fury are the two new exterior colors for 2018. These options will join a list that already includes the standard White Orchid Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Modern Steel Metallic, Crystal Black Pearl, Milano Red, and Aegean Blue Metallic. The safety of the Fit is brought to the next level with the addition of Honda Sensing safety technologies that will be available on LX and Sport trims, and standard on EX and above. It will now feature Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Mitigation Braking System (CMBS), Lane Keeping Assist System (LKAS) incorporating Lane Departure Warning (LDW), and Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) combining Road Departure Warning (RDW) which is not a small deal and something to neglect when considering the purchase of the 2018 Honda Fit. The company also claims that their model is now basically the most affordable car in America that offers such a huge list of safety features and the only vehicle in its segment to do so.
