Recently we acquired a 2018 Ford Mustang’s order guide! It was leaked, and soon enough we got our hands on it. Since the company doesn’t want to release the full technical details of the vehicle at least, we can now look into this order guide!
A member of the Mustang6g by the name of ‘disneyfun1’ somehow came into possession of Ford’s 2018 Order Guide Information booklet. Like any other true hero, he posted it online immediately!
Five distinct packages are in play for the 2018 Mustang. They include the EcoBoost Wheel and Stripe, the EcoBoost Premium Pony, the new EcoBoost Performance Package, the GT Performance Package and the Black Accent Package.
The Performance Package is only planned for V8 models, and it will bring perks such as a unique front splitter, six-piston Brembo brakes, 19-inch alloys, a rear wing spoiler, a strut-tower brace and K-brace, a larger radiator, heavy duty front springs and a thicker rear sway bar with it.
On the other hand, the Performance package for the EcoBoost Mustang won’t consist of bigger brakes, K-brace and the upgraded front spring and front splitter. As offerings with the current Mustang, we have the other two packages. Combined with the Premium Pony which brings a bright front grille, the looks of the front end will hands down be improved.
When it comes to ‘the Black Accent Package’ it will add some elegant and hot looking details such as black 19-inch wheels, black badging all around and black decklid spoiler. However, if you want to get your hands on this package, you’ll have to opt for a black painted roof.
We have no information about the reworked powertrains, and we also know nothing about the performance data. What we do know is that the 2018 Mustang will come equipped with a 10-speed automatic gearbox and adaptive dampers, but the latter will most likely be offered as a standalone option.
Cabin-wise, the new Mustang, will bear a new carbon-fiber trim which is said to be among the key interior upgrades. That means that the carbon fiber trim will be implemented on the dashboard and the shift-knob. Oh yeah, there will also be the ebony leather/Alcantara seats with Alcantara door inserts. Another interesting addition is the new 12-inch digital display which will provide you with all the information you need. That includes the burnout data from the Line-Lock feature which is now standard to all Mustangs.
