Ford is doing everything for you to feel comfortable in the Expedition and now you will be able to watch live TV inside your vehicle. This will be possible since SlingPlayer will be added to the brand-new 2018 Ford Expedition and it is going to stream TV shows and live events.
The system goes under the name of EVO, and it is comprised of two 8-inch monitors that are fitted into the back side of front-seat headrests, a wireless network hotspot and the SlingPlayer via which you can connect to a home cable or satellite system and enjoy watching TV. This is just perfect for long trips, especially for kids.
The EVO system contains SlingPlayer software, and by using it, passengers are able to connect to the Slingbox system at their home and thus gain control over their cable or satellite TV. If they want to watch something else, the access to the DVD player, HDMI port, USB and the SD card reader is allowed as well. In addition, with the system’s SmartStream app on compatible iOS or Android devices, you can send the streaming video to the display in your car.
It is truly amazing that up to 10 devices can be connected to the Wi-Fi hotspot, which allows a range of up to 50 feet. This system comes with two wireless headsets, and the sound can be transmitted through the Expedition’s audio system too.
Note that the subcompact 2018 Ford EcoSport crossover, which will arrive soon, is not going to feature the CD player, and this is just another proof of how popular streaming music is. Because of this, a more upright touchscreen will be introduced, and there will be more room for smartphones. According to Ford, younger owners of the new EcoSport will simply enjoy listening to music via Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, SiriusXM radio and SYNC Connect.
