On the company’s iPad edition of the Belgian website, BMW published two photos of the 2018 BMW M2 which has apparently been facelifted. The 2 Series has undergone tiny changes, just like it was the case with its bigger relative M4 Coupe.
If you are not an expert or an enthusiast, you will have difficulties finding the modifications and differences because the ongoing model looks almost identical to the facelifted version. However, if you take a closer look, you can see that the full-LED adaptive headlights with so-called angel eyes are now more angular instead of round. Although this is a small change, it is effective, and it gives the car slightly different look.
The same goes with the rear segment of the new BMW M2 – the taillights have been redesigned slightly, and it is hard to notice any change. The German carmaker decided not to release the photos of the interior, but we also expect minor differences with the largest one being the addition of the BMW’s latest iDrive infotainment system. This is possibly the sole tweak inside, but once we are sure, we will let you know.
The facelifted M2 will return with the already known 3.0-liter turbocharged I6 engine that delivers 365 horses and 343 lb-ft of torque. Thankfully to these power figures, and some other factors as well, the M2 can go from 0 to 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds while its limited top speed is 155 mph.
Next year, the German manufacturer is expected to launch the M2 CS which will bring more power to the table, while it will shed some weight. However, although this model will be more potent, it will be available in limited quantities and at a higher price. BMW surprised us with this facelift, so we expect more “accidental” leaks from them.
