Very popular British vehicle the Aston Martin Vantage is, as you probably know, on the automotive scene since the year 2005 and so far it had a nip and tuck here and there. Even this is a gorgeous car it is due for a much-needed overhaul. That is the main reason British manufacturer decided to freshen up its workhorse and grace us with the all new 2018 Aston Martin Vantage that is due to debut late in 2017, but first, it has to undergo some testing.
You who have followed new ventures of the British company probably know that back in June this new and improved Vantage was caught showing what it got on the Nurburgring track wearing a whole lot of camouflage, but what you do not know is that it was caught once again testing on public roads in Sweden. This is, of course, the first time it has been spotted doing any sort of testing on public roads, moreover in the winter time.
2018 Aston Martin Vantage – The look
When you take a first look at it, you can see that the prototype shares a lot of its main cues as well as components with the DB11, but a closer inspection will show you that its shorter and wider than the DB11. Furthermore, it now has a true two seater arrangement instead of the old 2+2 setup that was hosted in the larger DB11. What will remain unchanged is the architecture as well as the similar interior layout language and technology offer as it older brother had, and for the outside expect sleek fascia, aggressive wheel design, and angular rear end as DB11 with subtle changes. Since it will be lower and wider than the outgoing model, it will receive a new dimension which we believe won’t be that bad. It will also be, thanks to all of that, somewhat less of a true grand tourer (GT) car and will become more of a sports coupe.
New Aston Martin Vantage Engine
The power that will move this best will come from two options – turbocharged 4.0 L AMG V8, and a 5.2 L V12. The V12 currently produces massive 608 horsepower (453 kilowatts) and 516 lb-ft (699 Newton-meters) of torque, and God knows how much more it could bring if the engineers start tinkering with it. What we do not know is which one of these two was under the hood of the spied prototype.
Release date of 2018 Aston Martin Vantage
The 2018 Aston Martin Vantage is expected to be finished and shown to the general public sometime late in 2017, although there is no official timetable from the British car maker. What we believe is also a possibility is that it will be, shortly after its debut, followed by a roadster version.
