At the Geneva Auto Show British automaker, Aston Martin decided to show us their convertible variant of the Vanquish S coupe that debuted in November at the 2016 Los Angeles Auto Show and that was introduced as the 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante. Just like the coupe, the convertible has some changes visible on the outside including the new aerodynamic bits and pieces, updated and upgraded suspension and a unique quadruple arrangement for the exhaust tips.
Engine
The unit that will tick in the 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante will be a 5.9 L V12 which is specially tuned to deliver 580 HP, and it is paired with an eight-speed automated transmission with manual control. According to the company, this gearbox was revised and specially prepared for the Vanquish S in order to offer faster shifting time and to be even more sophistication at low speeds.
With this setup, it will be able to jump from standstill to 62 MPH in just 3.5 seconds and reach the top speed of 201 MPH. These, of course, are the numbers for the Vanquish S coupe mainly because the figures regarding the Vanquish S Volante are not available yet, but we believe that they should not differ much.
As it was with all previous models, the S ones also get an internal structure made from a mix of aluminum and carbon fiber, and the same material goes for the body panels while the door structure is made from cast magnesium.

As we are speaking about the legendary British automaker, you can imagine that the inside of the 2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante is all about luxury which is showed with quilted leather on the seats, a satin finish for the carbon fiber dash accents, and “Vanquish S” embroidery on the headrests. The company also offers something they call Bridge of Weir Caithness leather which is, according to them, just a bit more flexible. Just as with its predecessors, all and any personal modification can be accomplished via Aston Martin by Q special division.
One bad news is that, after a redesigned Vanquish which is due in about two years, this will be the last application of the Aston’s naturally-aspirated V12 engine because the British automaker future V12 models are going to host a twin-turbocharged 5.2 L engine that debuted in the 2017 DB11.
2018 Aston Martin Vanquish S Volante Price and Release Date
The good news, on the other hand, is that both of these cars (Vanquish S Coupe & Vanquish S Volante) are set to arrive in showrooms in April this year with the price at about $294,950 for the coupe while the price for the Volante is yet to be announced. Enjoy the pictures from Geneva!
