2017 Renault Captur facelift gets few treats!

In a press release that was delivered last week, Renault made a promise, and they sure did keep it. Today the company introduced their slightly updated best-selling subcompact crossover – the 2017 Renault Captur, and the main reason for this is to try to keep, if not even to improve, on the magnificent sale figure of 215.670 units that were sold in 2016.

Renault Captur was the most popular model in its segment in Europe, and now with updates such as optional full-LED headlights and a fancy fixed glass roof, it stands to attract even more buyers into the brand’s showrooms. But optional LEDs and glass-roof isn’t everything that is “changed” with this facelift. This vehicle will also offer two new paint schemes called “Atacama Orange” and “Ocean Blue” as well as a new roof color called “Platinum Gray.” The total number of the outside customization of this subcompact crossover amount to a whopping 30 different combos, while the interior will be available in six different customization options, while in addition to all of this customers can pick and choose from a multitude of color packs for both the exterior and the interior.

Renault engineers have put a lot of effort into the front and rear part of the Captur as well. The front of it now hosts a grille that has undergone some slight changes in the form of a chrome strip to make it look more like what its bigger brothers have, the Kadjar and Koleos. To spice it all up front and rear bumpers also got something new, and it now brings C-shaped LED daytime running lights and reworked skid plates like most crossovers have for a dash of that off-road ruggedness. Depending on the trim of the 2017 Renault Captur will offer 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels which will be available in different designs, of course.

The changes under the hood are nonexistent, meaning everything remained the same, so expect the usual 0.9 and 1.2-liter turbocharged gasoline engines and the thrifty 1.5 L diesel covering 90 to 120 hp. The 2017 Renault Captur will officially show its face on the Geneva Motor Show on Tuesday, together with an “EV surprise” which is going to be introduced as well. These two are supposed to find their place beside the Euro-spec Koleos midsize SUV and the Alaskan pickup truck, while the company’s new Alpine division will bring the lovely A110, which we already reported about. The sub-brand Dacia will also appear at the Geneva Motor Show, and they are set to unveil their rugged Logan MCV Stepway. It will be really fun on the Renault stand, and we just can’t wait to see them all!
