The new generation Mazda CX-5 appeared in 2012, and it brought SKYACTIV Technology and KODO Soul of Motion styling with itself. Ever since then, the Mazda CX-5 has become a popular model, sold in more than 120 countries and it has accounted for about 25% of company’s global sales. Now, the new version has arrived in South Africa.
2017 Mazda CX-5 Redesign
The 2017 Mazda CX-5 has been redesigned, and it has improved in every category – fuel economy, driving engagement, design, and safety. The new vehicle is equipped with LED headlights and front fog lamps while it sits on the new 17-inch alloy wheels. There are USB for the rear center armrest and auto door lock, while you can also find rear ventilation, leather seats, 8-way power adjustable lumbar support driver seat, and auto fold mirrors. Among other features, there are 10 speaker BOSE system, powerlift tailgate, head-up display, Smart City Brake Support and Driver Attention Alert.
Thanks to the cabin insulation, advanced ergonomics of the cabin and better seats, comfort increased, and the new crossover SUV introduces a brand-new dimension to Mazda’s human-centric philosophy. Furthermore, the Mazda CX-5 comes with G-Vectoring Control which is basically a system which controls body roll and improves handling, while ride quality, in general, has improved due to some engine and suspension tweaks.
The new Mazda will be offered in several colors such as Soul Red Crystal and Machine Gray Metallic. Since this is a really attractive car, the choice of color is simple because both options look fascinating. When it comes to the engine, three different units will be offered in South Africa – Skyactiv-G 2.0-liter, 2.5-liter petrol, and 2.2-liter Skyactiv-D diesel. All of these will come paired with manual and automatic transmissions.
